Slavery was an abomination and the worst thing that ever happened in this wonderful country. But likely there are very few white people and even fewer black folks alive in America who do not have either slave owner/holders, traders, those who captured or held and sold slaves in their native country or shippers in their family tree.

Washington and Jefferson of course are two of the founding fathers who owned slaves. And btw, Lincoln denied freeing slaves was his reason for going to war and then backed that up with an offer to allow slavery to continue as is in the states already practicing the despicable practice if the states who rebelled would come back into the union. Strangely enough Lincoln's VP, Johnson was an ex-slave himself. Having been sold, along with his brother, by his own mother to a man as a child. He ran away and with a reward on his head, avoided capture by various slave hunters and made his way to hiding in Greenville, Tn. So the only ex-slave ever to be president was A. Johnson, a white man. Strange facts about the curse on mankind. Further it is still practiced among many. And American whites are the only people in world history who rose up and expended over 600,000 lives in a war to end it per Thomas Sowell.

Here's an odder fact...

100% of the African slaves transported to the New World from Africa were originally captured and sold by...

Other Africans.

More insight on Lincoln would be nice to his motivation, and what he would have done to save the union. If he could have saved the union without freeing any slave or by freeing all or even some of the slaves he would have done it.

So if you lived in louisiana, and your wife was carjacked by someone black from louisiana, you would think that you, your wife, and car jackers were all the same?

So if you were a non-sequitur, would your non-sequitur think that a non-sequitur was a non-sequitur ?

He said as much.

Which is why he's headed to the ashheap with the Founding Fathers.

This is very true..

This is very false.

The Industrial Revolution and the ensuing waves of immigration were all post Civil War and after the abolition of slavery. Even pre Civil War it’s not like every Tom, Dick, and Harry personally owned slaves. Purchasing and owning a slave was an expensive proposition.

a tiny percentage of people in the us owned slaves, even in the south. Large land owners. Also, almost every black person in the us descends directly from slave traders, as it was other Africans who captured slaves and operated the slave markets in the west coast of Africa, and every tribe in West Africa actively participated in the slave trade. These markets existed centuries before the Atlantic slave trade ever started, because there was a large demand in the arab world for African slaves. The main change was to accommodate loading slaves at the coast instead of marching them across the desert

Lincoln never wanted to end slavery. You all have to realize the political situation brewing decades before the Civil War.

The South wanted to EXPAND SLAVERY TO WESTERN TERRITORIES. Think of all the land west of Texas until California.

The Northern Republicans didn't want slavery to expand any further. They weren't trying to end slavery, just contain it. The issue is that this would permanently cap the number of representatives slave states could have. The previous two decades before the Civil War had multiple deals where a new state was created on order to balance out the Slave/Free state system. California was at one point going to be divided into two states.

You should really check out the history of US state borders, very interesting and gives you more perspective on the politics at the time.

As bad as slavery was, every black person in America should be thankful their ancestors went through the abomination of slavery. If not for them, they would be living in a shithole African country. Their lives are so much better here in America because of the sacrifices of their ancestors.

These facts are not permitted in Liberalsville.
This must remain hidden and rewrite the history books.
How many students in the USA from K-12 have been taught this fact?
