Ochsner is so proud of their employees and want to help them so much that they started their Spousal COVID Vaccine Fee today. It is $100 per pay period for anyone who's spouse is on the Ochsner provided health insurance and has not taken the shot (I refuse to call it a vaccine).

They are taking it out pre tax. I plan on deducting it as a work related expense.

200 a month is a bit extreme. How much do they get from the feds for each covid case?

If my company did this, I would make damn sure to get the max number of "free" covered tests each month just to return the favor.

Is Ochsner self insured with a 3rd party administrator? They are certainly large enough to do that so they could possibly be hit with some large hospital bills.

Not everyone is in a situation to do that. How do you know everyone could get a better job. There are a limited number of Cath Lab Managers, Chief Nursing Officer, even Director of Food Services. Orderlies? Sure. How about someone vested in their retirement system and half way to retirement?

I don't disagree. My wife (no pics) is employed there and has a huge loyalty to her team, not an ounce of loyalty to Ochsner. This is the 3rd hospital system that has run her hospital since she has been there. Ochsner is by FAR the worst with their WOKE bullshite!

Their insurance is shite anyway. I would think most with spouses who have medical insurance have them on it.

If you tell another man to quit his job especially one that allows him to feed his wife and family then you should really consider who you are as a person.

Be a man and let men do what men do to protect their families dick head

They are probably way behind in what they should be making, if you don't shop your skills every few years you are losing out. What, you get 3-5% raises if you are lucky normally but hopping systems I see people getting 20-30% raises. Wash, rinse, repeat every few years. Loyalty to a corporation is insane.

I would say that's unusual for most hospital jobs. Some of the high end managerial positions, maybe.

Don't know that it is but I know some insurers charge a premium for smokers. I suppose their out could be "well you can always opt out". I suspect they have a fleet of attorneys both inside and out.

Why the hell would you downvote that? They could give you the law or they might even be your advocate. Some people just can't handle the truth on here.
