Urging those in the crowd to view those who expressed opposition to immigration with empathy, Obama said: "We can't label everyone who is disturbed by migration as racist.
I mean, he's right but this is kinda like the dude who KNOWINGLY yelled fire in the crowded theater saying, "sorry, my bad after the 50th person is trampled to death.

Richard Spencer, poster boy of the alt-right, seen here endorsing Bernie's racist and xenophobic take on open borders. Yikes.
Parroting right-wing talking points about scary foreigners coming in and "taking our jobs" or using up all our benefits (what benefits? American citizens don't get free college, universal healthcare, a job guarantee, etc) is a real bad look, and not something anyone on the left should be making excuses for.
the communists are mad at Bernie now, too

Nah, it's not a thing. It's literally leftist propaganda.

Trump should seize this opportunity right now to change immigration laws:
1) no work visas without proof of health insurance--employers bringing immigrants into the country for work should be required to produce such a document
2) no eligibility for welfare
3) for permanent status---learn the language
If these things are done there should be no limit on visas. Lose your job and insurance your visa is expired.

False. There should always be a limit on visas to serve a variety of purposes. Investment in our own workforce is a good thing. Using cheaper imported labor with different living and accommodation standards just drags down current citizens standards of living.

His policies were not extreme left compared to the nuts that are blabbing away now, but he did a lot to divide this country into black and white with the cop shootings. He fuked race relations up in my book.

Working people do not drag down any nation's standard of living.
It is foolish to discourage working, tax paying people. They add to an economy. They do not take away.
If not for our welfare we should have open borders. Since we are not going to end welfare we should limit it to citizens and require immigrants to have health insurance.
We want productive people.
They make the standard of living higher.

We wouldn't need the working people if we didn't have a cradle to grave welfare state. We're also praying that the 2nd and third generations have the work ethics of their parents.

DJT isn't opposed to DACA. He just wants a wall so we don't have the same debate in 15 years.

Trump can only fail if "middle-of-the-road" idiots like you, Roger, HHTM, etc., who sway like the wind, continue to stab him in the back and fail to realize that Trump 1) has almost no help inside the beltway, and 2) that Trump is our only shot at taking our government back from the Deep State & other anti-American forces who want 5o destroy our country.
Trump is not going to take down the deep state. You realize that the process of unwinding this level of corruption will exceed the timeframe of a two term president, correct?
You need to stop thinking this is a problem that be solved by a person or By an election. This is going to be a generational task, and there is nothing that will change that.

Good lord. DJT tried to end DACA, the courts told him no. This 4692d chess meme is getting old.
And don't worry, with millions of immigrants, we won't be having this conversation in English in 15 years.

Maybe---our economy would certainly be larger if those on welfare would work.
IMHO, we have a much larger welfare problem than immigration problem and welfare should NOT be an incentive to immigrate.
Neither Congress or Trump seem ready to tackle the welfare state.

But it is an incentive
I’d rather live in reality than pretend that a libertarian solution is feasible right now

If and when reparations happen, will Obama basically break even ?
