The former president was speaking on the topic of “race relations in the US” during the second episode of his podcast series titled “Renegades: Born in the USA” that he kicked off with rock legend Bruce Springsteen.
The two were discussing about the bill regarding reparations, which would study racial reparations for compensating Black Americans descended from slavery and victims of systemic racism.
“If you ask me theoretically ‘are reparations justified?’ the answer is yes,” Mr Obama said.
“There’s not much question that the wealth of this country, the power of this country was built in significant part, not exclusively, maybe not even the majority of it, but a large portion of it was built on the backs of slaves,” he said.

I'm fine with 50k reparations and a first class ticket one way to Africa to anyone that wants it. They can't come back though.

Again, if someone proves they descended from slaves I approve of reparations.
They deserve the difference between the average wealth of a person from the country of their ancestors and the average wealth of an African American here in the US.
If its better here than in their home country, we wont even charge them the difference.

I’ve thought about this for some time and agree with you. The way I would word it is sell your citizenship back to this country for $50,000 and a one way ticket to the destination of your choice. This one time offer is good for anybody who wishes to leave, not just Africans, Chinese, Irish, any group that has been marginalized. This also includes all liberals and alphabet people. Funding would come from selling the relinquished citizenships to families that wish to come to the United States.

This is an excellent question but they most likely think only conservatives will be subject to draconian climate change laws.
Similar to Obamacare, there really was a significant number of left wingers who thought only conservatives were going to have to pay for it and that theirs would be free. They ain't the sharpest knifes in the kitchen
