He's telling the truth. The NYT intentional published this false story - misinterpreting (at best) whatever documents they have and not letting the public see them. My guess is they're trying to force Trump to release even more of his own docs to disprove them. Either way, the low-information types already have their $750 talking points that they'll never give up.
An analysis of the docs the NYT did release by a tax law professional shows Trump actually paid millions in the years the NYT runs with "$750". It's in their own docs so they have to be putting out misinfo on purpose. I'm sure it's no coincidence that Biden already has a campaign commercial produced and ready to go (again).

Sounds like it is easy to prove NYT knowingly published false info if Trump's lawyers documented the communications.
Normally it would be hard for a public official to win a defamation lawsuit but this should one should be easy.
