Thought after the gov funding was stopped, the sky was falling and they were going to fold (at least what Dems and fake media told us). But listening to them now, see no change except maybe more and more Trump hit pieces. So they really did not need gov money, just another stealing of our Tax dollars...

Parts of NPR was done away with because of funding, same with PBS.

Yeah what parts, I doubt it, all their shows seem same as before. Point is just like when Trump gutted USAID and fired all the gov workers, was going to be the worse thing ever and we seem to be doing just fine.

They did away with the objective and non-political parts of their programming and are "all left wing screed, all the time" now.

Just another organization that sucked off the government funding. Now they are “independent” which just means to the left in their own view and reporting.
The “Public Radio Finances” section of their own website is a smooth rant against the clawback of their funding by the federal government.

Seems the commie judges and their army got mad
Federal Funding Eliminated by CongressFollowing a request from the White House, Congress passed a rescissions bill that clawed back previously approved funding for public broadcasting. As a result, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting—the organization that funneled federal money to NPR and PBS—took steps to shut down.Legal PushbackNPR and PBS challenged the directive to cease funding, and in March 2026, a federal judge blocked the executive order. The court ruled that cutting off funds based on a president's disapproval of "left-wing" coverage violates the First Amendment right to free speech.Financial Impact on Member StationsWhile federal funds make up a small portion of NPR's national budget, local member stations, particularly those in rural areas, rely heavily on this support. To cope with the losses, local stations have organized emergency fund drives and received an outpouring of additional support from listeners.

I’ve always known it to be heavily sponsored by corporations & public donations. Never understood why tax monies were ever needed.

the sooner you realize that the only legislation Congressional Republicans will rally around and support are things that either a) financially benefit themselves and/or their major corporate donors or 2) damage their political opponents and/or their major corporate donors you’ll begin to understand why they voted to rescind Federal support of NPR/PBS
are both of those media outlets left leaning? absolutely
did taking away taxpayer funding change that in any way? absolutely not
did it positively improve your life in any way shape or form? nope
remember:the same clowns who voted enthusiastically to remove Big Bird’s beak from the gummint trough also are preventing the SAVE act from even getting to the floor, and won’t lift a finger to craft legislation to stop illegal immigration or birthright citizenship
