He plans on giving it to teachers when he should use it on infrastructure. People, even republicans are fine with that type stuff, but when you take the surplus and embed it in the budget, boy we have some problems with that shite.

Teachers Unions are the scourge of education in Louisiana.

We’re dangerously on the precipice of a flood every time it rains, and yet he’s handing out money to a bunch of entitled state workers.

You are so correct that it makes my head hurt.

You forgot to add that he, JBE, is meddling in the internal affairs of LSU and is the only person saving F'king's job.

We might lose a house seat in DC after the census next year.

This could be a positive if it's Cedric Richmond's district.

First it is strange how small that Hubig deal is and concerning that the owner needs state guarantees for such small loans. Good luck to him!!

Second JBE lives to construct some kind of lawsuit on behalf of the state that he can farm out to his trial lawyer buddies and I suppose collect his rewards post office. He admires Huey long and the huge fortune the Long heirs have enjoyed from Huey’s reign. He has his own modern “deduct box” by implementing “pay to play” fund raisers again including one of statewide DOTD vendors to raise money for his brother the sheriff.

JBE is such a political animal that he thinks such behavior is ok and that trips to Hollywood and the Vatican and Havana for he and his family are perks of the job he deserves.

A quick Google search shows that you're lying. Your troll game is slipping, not that it was ever good to begin with

Can you link me what you're talking about, because I'm not lying. Our State sales tax is no where near the highest in the country. It's actually better than average.

What is discerning about our sales tax rates is that we also have income taxes and property taxes.

Only Tennessee has higher combined local and state sales tax but they have NO income tax. Texas has no income tax yet has lower combined sales taxes than does Louisiana.

We need to shrink our state government and let the local governments handle more things like teachers pay ect.

Read what you posted. "COMBINED STATE AND AVERAGE LOCAL SALES TAX RATES"

Look up our State sales tax rate rank in the country. It's better than average.

which is what we should look like as government functions vary from state to state.

State government funds most of the teacher pay in Louisiana for example and that is a local function in other states.

Yep and perhaps one day one of JBE's buddies will sue Hubig on behalf of the state saying they added to the cost of medicaid in Louisiana like they did with tobacco.

my wife was one of those entitled state workers you refer to for 10yrs. she supervised the state fun clinic in baton rouge for 8yrs. she didn't receive a pay raise after her promotion to supervisor for 8yrs. Our teachers in this state are some of the least paid teacher in the US . but sure blame the state works and teachers for budget problems. This state sucks because we elect the same good ole boy politicians every damn time. Doesn't matter if they have an R or a D behind their name. Jindal fricked us 9 ways to Sunday and people still think that Louisiana's problem is our Democratic gov.

When the discussion is about the Governor, who has zero control over local sales tax rates, the focus should be on the State rate.

wut?

He just told you our combined rate is higher than some states without income tax. Why would you separate out local taxes, without also factoring in income taxes too?

So answer this: why doesn't supply and demand apply to Louisiana teacher pay?
