re: Now that Iran has claimed victory what realistic and sensible options are left for the US.

What's AI think about the situation?
It's the political victory that Iran is hoping for.
The Islamic Regime and their CCP partners believe if the Islamic Regime is not toppled the likelihood of Republicans winning the upcoming 2026 midterms becomes much more difficult if the conflict is still ongoing during the midterm election.
There is much more at stake domestically than most have taken into account.
I continue to urge all who are Believers, pray for those in the fight against the Islamic Regime and pray the Democratic Socialists do not regain Congressional power after the midterms.

Direct & Immediate Answer
Reputable defense analysts and strategists generally do not frame the conflict as an outright military victory for Iran, noting that U.S. and Israeli strikes heavily degraded Iran's conventional military and navy. However, prominent institutions like the Brookings Institution and the Modern War Institute at West Point argue that Iran successfully leveraged asymmetric and irregular warfare to achieve strategic goals, leaving the U.S. in a politically and economically disadvantaged position. Strategic Analysis and PerspectivesThe Case for an Asymmetric Strategic AdvantageControl and Leverage: Analysts point out that Iran effectively secured leverage over global energy markets by disrupting the Strait of Hormuz, forcing high costs onto the U.S. and its allies without needing to win a conventional naval battle. Systemic Pressure: Experts at West Point's Modern War Institute note that Tehran successfully shifted the conflict away from conventional military engagements—where the U.S. holds the advantage—into fragile commercial, economic, and regional political systems. Modern War Institute
-Political Objectives vs. Military Wins: Commentators in outlets like The Atlantic emphasize that while U.S. leadership claims a historic military victory, Washington failed to secure its core long-term political and economic objectives, such as safeguarding shipping lanes and stabilizing energy prices. And once again...how does this benefit American citizens?
We would control the oil supply to the world.
Which means we control the world,
No Nation would ever think about challenging the
USA.
They already think this but this would plant
the flag in the sand.
I know you don’t like these thoughts but …
Iran killed too many Americans
Sorry for your loss
This whole premise is guaranteeing a win for
America so I know you hate it.

It’s pretty obvious what I think of your post. Now, as far as the “war” goes? It was a major gamble to undertake and not wise before an election but I can’t say Iran hasn’t earned it. The military strikes were about 4 months too late
The gist of the post was an invitation for those on this forum to voice their opinion on what's the best strategy going forward for the US vs Iran....that's it.

And if you understood history, we've been on this crash course since 700 AD ...

No. We definitely haven't.
Iran keeps to themselves and was never a threat to Americans in our own country.

We currently have less control over it than we previously did. And we previously had significant control over it.
You could argue that this is a temporary set back and the tide will turn. And it might.

Nothing is guaranteed. We didn't need this win because we were already great. This was an unnecessary risk.

Have you ever read projection scenarios where a
nuke is detonated in a first world Nation?

asking your opinion on what the US should do
Get 100000 satellite phones and drop them sporadically over the most populated area. Make them all active and get 10s of thousands of peeps with hidden live phones and offer them for information of any military offices or equipment, hidden throughout the country.
Give them a awaybto unite and form groups.
They are in the dark, the internet could be the answer. We need help inside of the borders. There are plenty with information that have no way of informing us.
They HATE the IRGC
I'm not saying your idea doesn't have some validity but from what we've been told about Israeli intelligence, there is none better. The US and Israel took out over 100 of the top honchos of leadership within the Islamic Regime and it was next man up. I'm not sure what info Trump was given by Bibi and Israeli Intelligence that made him decide to give the green light on tangling with Iran but at this point it doesn't matter now.....the US has to have an unequivocal victory and that includes Iran not having control of the strait, Iran not having nuclear weapons and in reality, the Islamic Regime has to go.

Why do you join these threads where you are so ignorant ...
Go ask any search engine who the largest net exporter of oil is ....
Also while there ... find out why the majority of oil transacting is done in dollars
It's called hegemony...

Not sure about you but I live in the United States. When was the last time they attacked Americans on U.S. soil? When is the last time they waged a war against a neighbor in the region?
The bulk of the chaos they cause in the region is done through their proxies. And while they're the biggest financial backers they aren't the sole financial backers. Some of the Iranian proxies are funded by nations that are considered our partners in the region like the UAE, Qatar, Turkey. That resistance axis would exist with our without Iranian support.

Yep.
We just have to find out where the leadership hides. I'm now seeing reports of offices in schools, etc...to hide from our weapons fire
If we eliminate enough top irgc, we make huge progress. Supposedly, we own the airspace and have full command, so the drop should be simple

Yes. What's your point? Did you think Iran was going to nuke the United States?

I responded to your specific statement that Iran keeps to themselves. The list is long of dead US soldiers from Iranian attacks and yes often by proxies funded by Iran.
Every President Since Carter has railed against Iran, none had the guts to take action. Trump took out their Supreme Leader and hundreds of others that have killed our fellow Americans.
Thank God they haven’t attacked us within the US. Is that what you think should determine action by the US? Oh hey, you attacked our servicemen but not inside our borders so it’s cool.
Oh crap, I forgot, your party doesn’t believe in borders.

In September 2009 Western leaders exposed a secret Iranian facility. US President Barack Obama, joined by France and Britain revealed intelligence on the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, an underground enrichment site being built deep inside a mountain near Qom. Iran had not declared Fordow to the IAEA, violating its safeguards duty to report new facilities at the planning stage.

Throughout 2021 and 2022, Iran installed cascades of advanced centrifuges at Natanz and Fordow, significantly increasing its enrichment output. In February 2021, the IAEA reported that Iran stopped allowing access to data from nuclear sites, as well as plans for future sites. Iran upped its production to 60% enriched uranium, an unprecedented level for Iran, just short of weapons-grade. This 60% enrichment took place at Natanz, and later at Fordow as well, yielding a stockpile that as of early 2023 exceeded ~70 kg of 60% uranium. The UK, France, and Germany without input from the Biden administration, raised alarms at the rapid rate of Iranian enrichment.

I'm also aware that the United States isn't patient when it comes to vengeance. We backed Iraq in an almost decade long war against the Iranians. It's not like we haven't had our payback. Keep falling for the propaganda that leads to these stupid wars though. I'm sure one of them will work out for us eventually.
