For the last time. Greenland is autonomous. Denmark can’t sell anything that has to do with it.
If there are rare earths and oil/gas reserves, the tiny population of Greenland will be the richest people on earth in 50 years.

It stated that further efforts by European nations to take control of any independent state in North or South America would be viewed as "the manifestation of an unfriendly disposition toward the United States."[1] "
This has turned into a crazy good and diverse post. If a young one manages to read it they will read about the Monroe Doctrine for the first and perhaps only time before they switch to A$AP Rocky and US relations with Sweden.

Ok.
So why wouldn't the danes? Who already are sitting on it. Maersk O&G has some of the most state of the art equipment for oil exploration, and money is not their problem. Why wouldnt the danish be leasing it to the largest company with in their borders? Shouldnt they be putting denmark first?

Rare earth metals are really not that rare.
China has the vast majority of the market simply because it is an environmental mess mining and separating them.

Ok.
Im not trying to be argumentative, i really am trying to understand. But if that is the case, then doesnt that make the arguments for buying greenland for its resources moot?

Well one thing we can agree on is the complicated nature of Greenland's relationship with Denmark. They use "autonomy" and "Kingdom of Denmark" back to back in the same damn sentences to describe various aspects of the country.
Anyhoo, from what I've read, Greenland's oil and gas industry is one of the aspects of Greenland over which it has autonomous control.

Just pointing out that the name "rare earth" is a bit of a misnomer.
They're not as common as coal, but it's not like China is the sole source.

Greenland is a distraction. We're gonna mine the moon. Space force probably already at it. No environmental regs. All the minerals we need. We've been there and sampled that bitch. Probably full of gold and unobatainium.

This is a bit of a stretch. China has the entire continent of Africa to rape and pillage. They don't need Greenland.

Not really.
The Chinese are colonizing the entire continent rapidly. They'll control it in the next 15 years.

What do you men by this? If we were to establish diplomatic postings with Greenland would it be an embassy or a consulate? I ask because what is being posted is a consulate in Greenland under the Embassy post in Copenhagen Denmark. So I contend based on this that Greenland may be autonomous to an extent but it is not independent of Denmark.

Id guess Greenland is to Denmark what Scotland is to the U.K.
Which doesn't do a whole heck of a lot for me in the clarification department. But I said it anyway.

Decent analogy.
Scotland is such a leeching society that they want independence post Brexit because of all the free shite they can get from the EU. They're worthless shitbags.
