Again I preface my comment by stating that I am not a Biden supporter. I was watching a live feed from the Kabul, and all that I saw in line trying to leave are men ranging from late teens to their forties. What that tells me is that these guys are not willing to do any fighting for their own country. I have no sympathy for them.

They could have quit with out billions worth of our military gear though. That’s a colossal F up, on multiple levels.

That was the same for Vietnam, they didn't want to fight for their own country either.

I get your argument and not disagreeing.

But don’t forget…they were trained and told they would have Full US air support and small ground support in the form of intelligence. This would greatly support their military and give the US a close watch on terrorist activities.

Biden pulled all of that!

I get the optic, but the facts are that since 2001 70,000 Afghan troops died in their fight against the Taliban. That’s compared to less than 2,500 US military members in that time.

Unfortunately, the Afghans soldiers were sold out by both their government and ours.

I dunno, maybe NOT being burned alive or having your wife, sister, daughters raped by scores of Taliban?

Seems like a no brainer

Just like a Democratic Congress did to Viet Nam.

The only real difference between them and those they run from is small interpretations of the same book.

They don’t even have a concept of country, they only know tribes, someone drew a border on a map and called it Afghanistan, sure.

Since women are considered mere property, I’m not surprised the plane was filled with men

They want to come here to be with a bunch of so called Americans that don't seem to have any fight left either to preserve their own country.

And this was true for 20 years. An entire generation. The American people gave them a generation of blood, sweat, tears, and lives of our best and brightest. Whomever it is that is running our country chose to pull out in the shittiest way possible, but it doesn't change the fact that these people had an entire generation to get it together and learn how to defend themselves against murderous fundamentalist muslims. They chose to trust their liberty, lives, and futures to Allah or some shite, instead of taking responsibility for themselves.

Their govt literally fled with the cash. What are they supposed to fight for when their country and it’s govt no longer exists?

this ^^^^^^^

you want to put yourself in their shoes, go into the heart of chicago projects with a handgun and fire off shots in the air until you are out of bullets. then dont run away because bstew3006 said you should fight

they had no air cover, then had no ammunition for their guns, and they havent been paid for over a month

if you werent given basic tools to do your job and havent been paid in over a month, how dedicated to the company you worked for are you?

these people are nomads, they dont own anything and dont have much of anything, they live paycheck to paycheck and the one and only concern they have is feeding their family and staying alive. fighting the taliban will only get you and your whole extended family beheaded and killed

they really had no choice but to join the taliban or die so spare me the DNC talking points of "they didnt want to fight"

The most rag tag group of people who desired freedom from their oppression beat the most powerful regime that existed at the time . They were under equipped and outnumbered . They were the original American Patriots . They were all men no matter what age they were . They fought , bled and died. AFT needs to learn this before they can go on

There is pockets of resistance. The VP got with the Son of the guy who was head of the Northern Alliance that fought against the Taliban during the first occupation. ANA soldiers has joined them. They was asking for us to supply them with weapons to fight and some air support. Protests are breaking out in certain provinces. They are unarmed though and the Taliban is just shooting them. 3 died trying to raise the Afghan Flag. All that was on tv this morning.

Folks the Afghans May finally be at a crossroads. For centuries they have just been tribes that only cared about the tribe and the territory they lived in. No national identity. Well in a strange way it seems this has been good for a lot of them. It seems like they have made a choice that they really liked the freedoms they had for 20 years. Seems a lot of them have decided they might want a country not tribal territory. Now that freedom has been taken from them it seems like a lot of them are having an awakening. So give the ones that want to fight for freedom some guns. Let’s cover them from the air and kill all those terrorists pricks. For the first time in centuries the people of Afghanistan May be ready to take that first step just like our ancestors did.
