My first time is a war zone I was 5. I was in Thailand on a school bus going to ISB. Rebels attacked the bus, fired an RPG at the bus and engaged Marines and native forces with small arms fire for about 15 minutes that left like forever. My last time getting shot at was in Augusta Ga in 2016.

So, from here forward LE shouldn’t be expected to assume the personal risk that an unarmed parent would? They are are just State servants taking orders with no exceptional motivation or expectation for extraordinary valor re other people’s kids? Got it. But I don’t want to believe it. I think there will be suicides before this settles. They blew it bad. IMO.

Yeah, but this is a perk and a motivation for people like me. I don’t have a wife or kids, and since I don’t have to worry about leaving anyone behind except my parents, extended family, and friends, it’s going to cross my mind that this might be why I was put on this earth. I’ve been suicidal before over bullshite, so I know I will turn the gun on myself if I stood by and did nothing over something actually real. I’m 99.9% confident what my reaction would be if I’m on the scene and armed.
