I thought there was more to the "euthanasia" story. Very sad, but there was indeed more to it.

A 17-year-old Dutch girl who sought euthanasia but was rejected by the government was allowed to die at home on Sunday after a years-long battle with depression and anorexia.
Noa Pothoven, of Arnhem in the Netherlands, explained the choice to end her own life by starvation in a now-private Instagram post last week, saying the trauma she struggled to live with following a childhood rape had become insufferable.
"After years of fighting and battling, I am drained," she wrote. "I have quit eating and drinking for a while now, and after many discussions and evaluations, it was decided to let me go because my suffering is unbearable."

It's no less a troubling story. Basically, her parents helped facilitate her dying, with essentially the full blessing of the government there. The rape was by muslims - which nobody is publishing for some reason.
The whole thing seems like a failure by society all around.
It seems clear there's not really an answer here, but I'm pretty sure any notion that we should be celebrating this as some sort of advancement of civilization is not it.

It's depressing because we are entering a time where society has a subjective value for life. The exact opposite direction of where we should be headed. There's even some freaks that want mass populations to die off because of climate change, it's bizarre and anti-human. Don't really care about the policy, it's just sad that somebody can convince themselves that killing themselves is the best option, and her parents didn't seem to do anything about it. Very un-human behaviors.

I saw it here. Full disclosure, it's sort of an out there traditional catholic blog. Fire away at the source if you wish. If you can find clear contrary information that it was something else, more power to you as well. I'd love to see that, if it exists.

I acknowledged it was sketchy, but no less so than the fact that there is literally NOTHING about the actual incident in the mainstream media. Tell me how that's not so.

That’s a sad story. You have to be in a very dark place to do something like that. Sucks there wasn’t any kind of help that could keep her out of that dark place.
Truly some major mental issues and I can only hope that a just God understands such and does not punish her and that she is in eternal happiness
