Has devolved.

As a highly qualified middle-aged white male who spent several months this year looking for work, I know this all too well. Especially in my field. It is DEI fest and has been for the last several years.

But there are a group of posters (voters) here who start threads about platform boots. These are the same folks who tell us Civil War is coming and that Trump will be murdered before the election.
Point is, even a majority of white males couldn’t care less about this type of discrimination. It’s just too boring for their tastes.

After the university’s Department of Psychology identified a white candidate as best qualified for a tenure-track professor position in early 2023, the department’s Diversity Advisory Committee pressured the hiring committee to re-rank candidates in accordance with the methodology laid out in an internal handbook titled “Promising Practices for Increasing Equity in Faculty Searches” so that a black woman would receive the job instead.
Elise Stefanik showed the world this week why hiring tokens is a bad idea.

I was told by my translator in Japan a few decades back, that the big and successful corporations there grew mostly out of families who produced no sons. When there were no sons, the next head of the family business would be selected as a son-in-law via arranged marriage. They were carefully selected for their merit.
Natural born sons as head of the business could become infatuated with womanizing, drinking, gambling or poetry. They could be an earlier version like a Hunter Biden. Choosing anyone who is not the best whether by birth or by DEI has consequences.
