This verdict does not surprise me one bit. I absolutely abhor San Francisco and have for the last 47+ years. This was the entry point where I arrived back from Nam and the welcome reception was rocky to say the least even then.
While with the ATF I was assigned two different times to investigations in the NoCal and San Francisco areas. The people I came into contact with, including some in the Bureau, were the most rude, arrogant, pompous, and absolutely most ignorant people I have ever dealt with.
There is no doubt in my mind that with the abundance of these lunatics the defense attorney had no problems filling the jury box to his liking.

Maybe it's time we take the kid gloves off of California.

The south might be dumpy and racist in some parts but I truly believe some of the nicest, most caring people live here.
Yes I've traveled around.

so he's a non-violent criminal. because he's brown and has been arrested a few times.. we should be okay with people calling for him to be killed?

Prosecution was no doubt complicit in the selection.

The past few weeks on this board have been amazing. I never thought I’d see so many liberals tripping over themselves to defend rapists and murders.

for you to try understanding = "not guilty" does NOT imply "innocent" = see OJ for recent example.
Now - I don't think murder charges could ever be proved beyond a reasonable doubt in this case, based on what I know of the details.
I do not understand how he could escape "involuntary manslaughter" however. This should have been a slam dunk verdict on that charge.
San Francisco is a cesspool - prosecutors should have asked for a change of venue.
