The founding fathers also didn’t allow you to vote for senators for this exact reason, your representatives would lose their position if they allowed a geriatric to reign. And they figured with the house running every 2 years, the voters would prevent this.

No one was age limited or term limited in the Constitution originally. No one lived long enough back then to need them.
