The internet provider industry is in no way ripe for new business entry. There is a reason you only have 1 or 2 providers max in certain areas. This is not a true free market.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to start a new ISP that can compete with the comcasts of the world? Much less even be allowed to open by the regulatory bodies, lobbying groups, and the ISP cartel?

Again, I at the "free market" ideas some have around here.

You want more ISPs? Cut the read tape it takes to enter the market.

I'm not sure this is possible with today's technology. Local governments are not going to just let every company install their own network.

Why doesn't any entity challenge these regulations?

The idea that something like the internet only has one or two providers in a given area is absolutely mind blowing.

I disagree. With technology advances, starting an ISP will become easier IMO. Read up on WISP and realize that someone with a small capitol investment can start one.

It seems as if it would gain a shitload of support from everyone simply by the fact that they know they're getting fricked and they're tired of it.

1. Comcast throttled, was sued, and LOST before NN. 2. Did NN just make it "more" illegal to throttle? seriously, is that the argument from you idiots?

Why don't you outline the history of the case and how it ties to NN? Just be honest for once.

He thought he had a gotcha in the other thread he was being laughed at in, so he created this one where he is again being laughed at.

In other words, a typical Thursday.

Forcing a one size fits all solution like NN on the internet stifles innovation by blocking some companies from turning new ideas or business models into successful products.
