He's trying to make a poker analogy. He should have folded pre-flop.

Find out where they launched the bastard from, and bomb that missile site. That will put the ball back in Fatty's court. Then we will see if he is ready to commit suicide or not.

That would start an all out war. Bad move

A war with a country that can't even successfully launch a missile? Yeah that's terrifying
It's time to shut that crazy fatass up, and it's hilarious that the left doesn't criticize him for starving his own people, or for having his own family members murdered in order to ensure he stays in power. Party of hypocrites is what they are

I'm wondering if we aren't shooting them down, possibly with some sort of laser system that is classified.

Or s not so classified system, Boeing has been testing directed energy weapons since the 1980s in both ground and airborne configurations. The airborne test program was canceled in 2011, after it was determined that it would not be a viable weapon, but the information available indicates it would be the perfect platform for shooting down NK missiles in the early phase of flight.
"the YAL-1 testbed is considered to have proven that air mounted energy weapons with increased range and power could be another viable way of destroying otherwise very difficult to intercept sub-orbital ballistic missiles and rockets."
"The Airborne Laser Laboratory was a less-powerful prototype installed in a Boeing NKC-135A. It shot down several missiles in tests conducted in the 1980s"
"The ABL was designed for use against tactical ballistic missiles (TBMs). These have a shorter range and fly more slowly than ICBMs. The MDA has recently suggested the ABL might be used against ICBMs during their boost phase. This could require much longer flights to get in position, and might not be possible without flying over hostile territory. Liquid-fueled ICBMs, which have thinner skins, and remain in boost phase longer than TBMs, might be easier to destroy"

To NK's credit, it can't be easy getting a paper-mache ballistic missile off the ground.

North Korea disrespected the wishes of China & its highly respected President when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!

If Kim was smart he would invite him over for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.

This is imbecilic. It's inexcusable that we have even gotten to this point. A country which is openly hostile and considers itself to still be at war with us (which, technically, it is) is now in possession of nuclear weapons and is actively developing the technology to deliver them to our soil. Why have we stood by and done nothing? Are we waiting until they blow up a city or two before we decide we are justified in taking action? This is not a political issue. This is a direct threat not just to US interests, but to the lives of millions of Americans. Our leadership since at least the turn of the century should be ashamed of themselves. If the DPRK actually ends up nuking a city, whether it be Seoul or Tokyo or somewhere on the US West Coast, Obama and Bush 2 are going to be excoriated by future historians for their failure to act when they should have. Hopefully Trump will put a stop to this madness, but it is difficult to see how that can be done now without massive loss of life in Korea at the least.
I am of the opinion that any attempt at proliferation should be viewed as an act of war against the US, no matter which country it is. The world needs more nuclear-capable powers like I need a hole in my head.

We may not need a missle defense system.

My 7 year old does it all the time. He uses 3 Estes D12-3 rocket engines.

Nuking someone doesn't just happen. It's a process. History will look and decide whose inaction is at fault.
Whenever it happens, it won't be on the person whose watch on which it occurred.

I'm not defending or decrying Trump in this matter yet. We have to wait to see what, if anything, he does to address the situation. But he is in no way responsible for the fact that the United States stood idly by while the country that hates us the most not only developed a nuclear weapons program, but repeatedly told anyone who would listen that the program was aimed at us.
