Trump got a raw deal on Charlottesville. He could have handled it better, but what he actually said and what the media and his opponents say he said, are two very different things. As Casey Stengel was fond of saying, you can look it up.

Otherwise, how is Haley's statement controversial? Trump has made a hash of pretty much everything since COVID, committed numerous unforced errors, costing himself an election and the loss of the Senate to the Dems, and ending with a violent embarrassment at our Capitol. Throw in the fact that the monolithically liberal historians who will write the history will not even recognize his real achievements, and yes, he will be judged harshly by history. And he should.
