The Cramer Curse:

Nike Stock Suffers Historic 15% Crash Hours After Jim Cramer’s Bullish Call

Nike (NKE) shares collapsed 15.5% on April 1 after the sportswear giant's fiscal Q3 earnings revealed deepening profit weakness beneath a headline beat.
The drop marked the stock's second-largest single-day loss in 25 years, pushing NKE to its lowest price in over a decade near $44.63.
Cramer's Call Becomes Instant Meme
Minutes after Nike released Q3 results on March 31, CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer posted on X (Twitter) that things looked positive for the stock.

Social media users immediately seized on the remark as a contrarian sell signal, invoking the well-known "Cramer Curse" phenomenon.
The Inverse Cramer Tracker ETF (SJIM), launched in 2023, was built around the idea that betting against Cramer's public picks can generate returns.
Replies to his Nike post flooded in with mockery, charts showing the after-hours plunge, and screenshots of the stock's immediate decline.
Barchart later confirmed the historic scale of the damage, noting NKE had been obliterated for its second-largest loss in a quarter-century.

Indeed, the NKE stock price nose-dived to depths last seen in October 2014. As of this writing, Nike stock was trading for $44.62.

My oldest goddaughter is the head of the Marshall's/TJ Maxx sisterhood on Madison Ave.
I'm convinced that TJX with Ernie Hermann at the helm is the most intelligently run retail op in the country right now and that what my goddaughter has done, with their influencer ad campaigns especially, is brilliant.
Their TV spots are excellent and well placed, but their influencer strategy and return on that dollar is exemplary. Plus they fill a niche with a good product.
Nike can eabod imho. They went so woke, so off the charts far left ... that even Mad Ave was trying to pull them back. And Nike doubled down.
I often wonder what's going to happen with all of these Nike apparel deals we all have once Nike finally self destructs.
My son's GF manages a Home Goods in Norman, OK.
I live 30 miles north of OKC, and they just opened a new Home Goods on that side of OKC. My wife was on it like a rat on a Cheetoh.
My daughter lives in Ft. Worth, and I know she buys a lot of stuff at Home Goods.
ETA: For those who don't know, Home Goods is owned by TJX.

When you have no argument, deflect. Right?

quote:why? The revenue numbers explain it perfectly.
should get up at the next shareholder meeting and explain that to the investors who have lost money.
If you think the world is choosing brands other than Nike and UA because of some gay commercials, you are nuts.
They lost customers base due to Lulu, vuori, all, athleta, Rhône, gymshark and many others producing more comfortable clothes that are understated with much better fit and feel.

They went woke.
They went broke.

Why is this on the poli board?
Because they thought using a male model would sell sports bras to women.

Nike made it clear to half the population that they did not want or care about getting their business.
And half the population said okay.
They forgot the Michael Jordan rule at the same time that the athletic wear market got flooded with options. Just bad business.
