I grew up as a die hard Saints fan.
Had season tickets in my family for 30+ years. Ever since 2018, my interest in the NFL has gone down the toilet. I barely watch Saints games anymore which felt so weird, but then I saw the benefits of it. I can now pursue other interests and hobbies I like.

I have not gone to a game in 3+ years. Not attending a game was like trying to quit smoking and it was tough to bear, but now it is in my rear view mirror.

I still have the tickets in my name and sell to a mutual friend, but I am leaning towards cutting off all ties.

That Kaepernick situation woke me up. I realized that I have many other priorities in life and if someone who's lavish lifestyle is helped from my support shows no appreciation, I cannot bring myself to enable it any longer

It is sad because I had so many joyous memories as a fan, but now it is no longer fun.

There is only one nation- therefore there is only one National Anthem. This is a blatant display of approved separatism- NOT unity.

Playing a fake anthem before a sporting event is catering to those who look at America with contempt- yet still don't have a problem accepting all of the precious things this country affords them.

What a joke.

Seals it for me. If they don't recognize the US, then how about the NFL try to rely on the 11%'ers to financially support the league in viewership and attendance. Holy shite, without "Whitey", there wouldn't be a revenue stream. frick them.

No NFL for me.

More fishing.

The best way to bring folks together and to unify people is to play everybody’s national anthem.

The NFL could start with the black anthem, and follow up with all the other anthems.

Next could be the Mexican anthem, then the Cuban, or the Canadian. The native Americans could get their’s in. And we can’t forget where we came from. Hail to the Queen is appropriate. Can’t leave the French out either. They helped us get our independence. And I know a lot of Poles play football so that has to be in too. We have to be careful and not leave folks out.

I’m thinking we could start all the anthems around Noon and actually kick it off at around 1:45 if we hurry. The players could stand, kneel, or genuflect depending on their feelings about each individual anthem. Some may elect to stay in the dressing room; while some might go out on the field with their family or gay lover.

It would truly be a woke beginning to some great football.

Except for Saints games, I stopped watching the NFL after the NOLA no-call.

It was amazing how productive my Sundays were last season when I wasn't watching.

I suspect even more people will learn to live without it.

That's kind of like starting the revolution after you get done watching your soap opera and doing the laundry.

Thanks for that real and sincere commitment.

The last NFL game I watched was Deshaun Watson's first game like 4-5 years ago. I've spent most of those Sunday afternoons in a deer stand bowhunting. Being outside in the fall is much more enjoyable than sitting on the couch watching that bullshite

They do not care if every poster in this thread gives up totally on the NFL. Like Coke and Delta they don't really want your business.

The NFL knows the main demographic that buys the apparel and gives them the viewership to get the TV contract and it is clearly not southern white males.

Screw them. I will not renew my LSU season tickets next year either. I do love the LSU baseball but I am about finished with college football. (Screw Woodward for lighting up the stadium in the BLM colors.)

My point is that my interest has been tumbling for years. I used to watch games religiously regardless of the teams playing. The NOLA no-call was simply the catalyst.

I should have added that I’m probably not watching at all this season and I’m likely done for good.

Will Diana Ross sing “I’m coming out” for the gay players?
