Hops in major beer-producing European countries like Germany, Czech Republic and Slovenia are ripening earlier and producing less since 1994, scientists found. And, perhaps most alarmingly for the IPA lovers of the world, they are starting to lose their critical bitter component.
It’s going to get worse, researchers say. Hop yields could decline by as much as 18% by 2050, and their alpha acid content – which makes beer bitter – could decrease by up to 31% due to hotter and drier conditions, according to a study published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications.

Has anyone blamed climate change for the attack on Israel?

Shift the growing window northward. Problem solved.

Shitty beers are now causing climate change? Soy boys will be outraged at this.

Sounds like a win.

Well, that’s one good outcome of global warming.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. A lot of these breweries seem to think that they just need to make their IPAs super bitter and it will be good. The over bitterness masks their shitty brewing and shitty beer.

The problem is that Americans lack nuance and subtlety, and think if a lot of something is good, too much is AWESOME!!1!

Spruce Tips, Yarrow, etc... were used, and spruce in beer is fantastic. I make a spruce tip Gose every other December that is really good.
It's not bland mass-market lager the likes of bud-miller-coors. But those of us that like flavor, like good beer.
