Correct me if I'm wrong but the court has mostly leaned to the right since about 1970. Why are the lefties acting like this is something out of the clear blue that has never happened before you reckon? This ain't new territory, so to speak.

There really are a lot of ignorant people on the left when it comes to actual history of this country.
Exactly even with "conservatives" in charge this country naturally drifts left. It only corrects sharply to the right when the left gets impatient and people realize how crazy they are. They'd help themselves a lot more if they just did nothing.

"The far-left New York Times editorial board is calling on Democrats to use mafia tactics from The Godfather to stop President Trump from filling a Supreme Court vacancy. Using language that appears to not only condone, but to encourage violence, the editorial board writes:

If anyone listens to the Dan Bongino show, you've heard him talk about how the left, or anyone for that matter doesn't really understand what the are asking for when they call for or encourage physical confrontation. He describes in detail how he's faced near death experiences as a cop in one on one confrontations and how he was left to wonder if it would end, or if it would take his life this time.
His assertion is that the left only instigates confrontations when they have numbers or when they are protected by police or campus security and they know the other side won't be free to battle back. He goes on to say they are soft and unprepared for a real physical battle.
While he goes out of his way to say that war or physical confrontations is not the way to proceed, he is convinced that the left would be annihilated in a real battle of sides.

I am starting to lose faith in POTUS for allowing these leftist lunatics to call for harm. Low IQ Waters is clearly to blame for alot of the aggression. Yet she is allowed to ramble on.

Not only was he chosen by God, God is giving him the opportunities to rule in such a way, for His people. They don’t see it, and they keep fighting a losing battle. It’s kinda funny.

I don’t understand this talking point, it’s literally impossible to ensure 5-4 majority for that long of a period with the Court’s current makeup. Its pure hyperbole...Thomas’s seat will have to come open waaaaay before “a generation”. He’s 70, he will die or retire at some point within a decade-ish.

Now if RBG or Breyer die/step down, then they can screech about locking down the court and have a point.

The problem with Hamilton's theory is that THIS US Congress has no desire whatsoever to do its job by passing controversial and problem-solving legislation! They want to spend their time getting re-elected and passing controversial legislation is not the smart way to get re-elected.

As such, Congress abrogates it's duty and is MORE than happy for unelected Justices and unelected Executive agencies to make law from the bench and by FedGov reg.

If there was any doubt about which side the NYT favors, it's gone now. They are nothing but a mouthpiece for the filthy and degenerate "progressive" cause.

I forget the way he worded it but the idea was "controlled violence" versus "uncontrolled violence". People who engage in controlled violence get a false sense of confidence and they lose sight of the fact that everything changes when the situation is no longer moderated. Blurring the lines between the two is very dangerous. I thought it was one of his best shows.

Sure the Senate has the votes to confirm Kethledge or Amy Barrett or some other antichoice ideologue. But, they're still accountable to the mainstream American voter at the polls, in November!

Extremism in the pursuit of hotbutton approval from a ideologically warped base is no virtue.

Barring some unforeseen development, the president will lock in a 5-to-4 conservative majority, shifting the court solidly to the right for a generation. This is all the more reason for Democrats and progressives to take a page from “The Godfather” and go to the mattresses on this issue.

The term “going to the mattresses” means going to war.

The Urban Dictionary accurately describes the phrase as meaning “preparing for battle” within the context of a mob war, a violent mob war involving firearms, assassinations, and bombings.

The anti-Trump New York Times describes this editorial as a “call to arms” and adds that the “fire now raging against Mr. Trump and his nominees can’t be sustained indefinitely.”

Remember when the liberal media and the left were apoplectic over Sarah Palin merely stating that Republicans were targeting certain congressionalsets in the 2010 mid term elections.

Just going off the Constitution my brother, very first words of Article I are that all legislative power is vested in a Congress and the Take Care Clause for the Executive which trigger the EOs and FedGov reg that hold the force of law as well

The bastardization of the entire federal system has been simply astonishing all the more supports the argument that all federal judges should be strict constructionists, maybe it'll compel Congress to actually do its damn job since no law is being developed and all that
