You haven't know very many poor people in your life. That set of language is color blind. Arizona, Kool Aid, and Purple Drank are common vernacular. Matter of fact there's a Brookshire's in a majority white town that sells a chocolate milk literally labeled "Chocolate Drank".

Also I find it funny you can't debate the stat breakdown.

So we need to make some jokes about RC colas and moon pies and toothless trailer park trash to make you happy?

In states where they have done this it was found that the expense of administrating drug tests was more expensive than taking away payments from people who flunked.
As pointed out, this doesn't give a full account about how the testing was done.
IIRC, they didn't count the number of people who refused to take the test as "flunked".

I thought it was shown to be a failure in at least one state that tried it. Florida maybe? But that came with the big caveat that the tests were not random, if I recall. The number of clean drug tests was so incredible as to be statistically impossible. Kinda like the oft cited rape stats for college campuses. Impossible.
Wasn't that because the Gov at the time owned that lab and so the testing wasn't at market rates?

I can tell you from face to face experience in the store I manage. The EBT-food stamp customers buy hundreds of dollars of the best roasts, ribeye steaks, sausage, chicken for frying, cookies, donuts, fresh and frozen pies and cakes[lots], bags and bags of candy, ice cream 3 or 4, potato chips[lots], and a lot of sugary drinks. Average of $600 a customer and I,the manager, has to buy specials and ad items for 50 or 60 dollars and they get $600. Obama really got this out of line.
I see this daily.

Why do you support socialism?
Posted on 1/14/17 at 11:13 pm to MintBerry Crunch
I'm all for cutting spending and such but chasing soda purchases over corporate welfare and billions of black budget dollars being spent are priorities out of order

what is acceptable to buy?
and if only people would get as upset over "corporate welfare".

but...but... then people might actually think food stamps suck and do something to get off of them... GASP!!!!
except...except...most people get off food stamps
Also, did you also know that in the late 80's more than 40% of those on food stamps also got cash benefits. Today that number is about 10%

It's so hard to believe that the people with the worst socio-economic situations in American make poor financial and nutrition decisions...

It's very believable. Lower education and intellect are very much associated with a multitude of problems, including poverty and poor nutritional and health related decisions.

It's helped the food lobbyists and ag corporations who are the real beneficiaries.

I know we are on page 8, but is it too late to point out that the actual report found no significant differences between SNAP and regular buyers? That we are quibbling over a percent or fraction of a percent differences?
