I thought it was shown to be a failure in at least one state that tried it. Florida maybe? But that came with the big caveat that the tests were not random, if I recall. The number of clean drug tests was so incredible as to be statistically impossible. Kinda like the oft cited rape stats for college campuses. Impossible.

Yeah. If you do random tests, it's going to be ridiculous. Missouri does targeted testing.

Correct. 40% of food stamp recipients are white. 26% are black.

My solution to this problem will erase soda from the shopping cart of every food stamp household: allow foodstamps to be used for purchase of tobacco and alcohol.

I don't think it was directed at a particular race, but rather everyone who does this. I have friends who use their stamps specifically for soda and use their drug/work money earnings for food and they are white.
As for those stats the actual breakdown for that needs the qualifier that 26% would mean that blacks are 2x represented according to demographics. Further, that whites at 40% are underrepresented at x0.6, but I'm sure examining your stats makes me stupid too.

Im an equal opportunity shamer of those that take advantage of the generosity of others ...but you are correct blacks abuse welfare at far greater rates than whites

The reason it's not just commodities and lines for welfare trucks is because of feelings and emotions. People on the dole should eat what you eat and shop where you shop and use your money to purchase their Gatorade and steaks.
