"Could close as early as Tuesday" isn't old news.
At this point, receivership would be the best thing for the Kennedy Center.
Trump is the Chairman of the Board. The Board is refusing to use the $257 million allocated by Congress to renovate the Center unless Trump's name is added. The law prevents Trump’s name from being added.
Things won't change as long as this Board is in charge.

Speaking as one, I don't agree.
I agree that the President and his Board should follow the law. Also, hopefully President Trump would spend all his time on Presidential stuff rather than being a construction manager for a building named after a Democrat war hero.
