Guess the new Democrat president is too perfect to mock just like the last one, huh?
‘SNL’: Weekend Update Fires Shots At Marjorie Taylor Greene, “Former Social Media Influencer” Donald Trump

SNL‘s “Weekend Update” hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost added to the layers of criticism against Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has publicly supported QAnon and shared conspiracy theories.
“Anybody believing those crazy conspiracies has to be as blind as Stevie Wonder pretends to be,” Che said about Greene’s beliefs in QAnon’s anti-Democrat conspiracy theory.
Jost also roasted Greene’s apology for sharing conspiracy theories. Upon catching heat for sharing theories about wildfire-starting “Jewish space lasers,” among others, Greene said “nobody’s perfect.” Jost was quick to poke holes her statement.
“‘Nobody’s perfect’ is a cutesy, little phrase you say when you mess up a lunch order not when you accuse kids of faking a mass shooting,” he said. “It’s the same reason ‘Did I do that?’ was (Steve) Urkel’s thing and not O.J.’s.”
The duo turned their attention to “former social media influencer” Donald Trump. Nearly a week after nearly omitting any mention of the former president in their segment, the anchors touched on Trump’s upcoming impeachment trial.
Following reports that Trump would not testify in front of Congress on charges of inciting the violent insurrection on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, Jost had some advice for the former The Celebrity Apprentice host.
“Stop feeling sorry for yourself, put on your extension and pretend that it’s Maury Povich and that you’re not the father,” Jost said, noting that the impeachment trial would be entertaining to watch. Jost added that Trump could event read the tweets he hasn’t been able to publish since his social media ban at the upcoming trial.

When you’re out of material and your cast has no talent, what else can you do?

Snl sucked years ago, it still sucks. No surprise.
Asshats behind snl worship Democrats. Nowadays, it's easier to get the pope to joke about jesus, than it is to get white liberals to joke about Democrats.

Two jokes on Weekend Update were directed solely at the new president.
quote:
President Biden said he would move ahead with his $1.9 trillion stimulus plan with or without Republican support. Because this economy needs a massage and Joe Biden isn’t waiting for permission.
quote:
An interview with Biden will air tomorrow before the Super Bowl between the Bucs and the Chief. Incidentally, Chief and Buc are also what Biden calls his friends when he forgets their names.
SNL still isn’t balanced in who they decide to mock and obviously not as spiteful towards Democrats as they are Republicans, but Biden hasn’t been completely off limits.

Ok but they're not wrong. Q believers are on scientology levels of nuts.

I can see they really searched hard for material to mock Biden.

So they made fun of qanon like everybody does on this board?

SNL has been living off their first couple seasons for decades. They have occasionally gotten great talent, but then that talent moves on and it's back to inane drudgery.
And now it is woke inane drudgery.
The phrase vapid and flaccid insipidity comes to mind.
(That was my impersonation of an arrogant NY Times critic if they were honest).

This week they also ripped off a stand up routine from Ted Alexandro when it came to Zillow. Hey if you’re not funny and refuse to hire people that are actually funny why not just steal funny people’s material?

snl has not been funny since beluchi died....
Posted on 2/7/21 at 3:05 pm to tigersbb
That shite is still on TV? I thought that crap died 15-20 years ago?

Ummmm, Norm MacDonald would like a word with you, who is possibly the funniest SNL cast member with Bill Murray and Chris Farley being his only true competition. Norm shitting on OJ nonstop.

If ONLY they could think of something funny to say about Joe...

You are both right. As a full ensemble, it was only great the first couple seasons. The flashes of brilliance after that are short lived.
Two of the most annoying SNL alums to me are Sandler and Ferrel, just the sound of their voices makes me cringe, not to mention their faces.
And there ain't enough cowbell to change my mind.

The first doesn't even qualify as a joke, and the second one isn't close funny or biting.
Where are the jokes about AOC fearing for her life when she wasn't even within a Dustin Johnson 3-wood of the Capitol?
How about a takeoff of Biden as the Governor in Blazing Saddles signing stuff he has no idea he's signing? Pelosi as Queen Mother?
Fauci playing COVID roulette?
There is a ton of material SNL chooses not to use, because it is politically-motivated nowadays. When a comedy has sacred cows, it limits itself. SNL has VERY narrow limits, and it just isn't funny any more.

No one in history is as easy to make fun of as Trump, but they started the weekend update off with a creepy Biden joke. The only President they ever really took it easy on is Obama.
