Not thrilled but I guess we’ll see. At least:
A) Selected Leo as the name
B) Studied at a St. Thomas Aquinus seminary
C) Wore the correct vestments
D) Is NOT a Jesuit
Not much to hang your hat on but at least a start

I’m Absolutely shocked they picked an American right now.
Wiki says he holds Peruvian citizenship also. What do you think he only spoke Italian and Spanish? He may never speak English.

He went to Villanova in the 70’s. My guess is he’s conservative. The school was pretty based back then.
Political climates at universities back in the 70s were massively different compared to today, even at the big secular schools.

The previous Leo was pro workers' rights, 'fair' wages, etc. He was known as the 'workers Pope.'
Tells us quite a bit about this new one.

Saying he is far left is crazy
I didn't say he was far left. You don't have to be a far left loon to be infected with TDS.

The faculty and student body were conservative, so he would have been taught under that environment as an undergrad. Was definitely not an Ivy League environment, which was still quite liberal back then.
