A French Quarter surveillance camera captured a violent robbery early Thursday morning in the 700 block of Royal Street near St. Peter Street.
Video shows three women approach a woman walking alone. One of the suspects punched the victim and grabbed her bag.
When the woman got back on her feet, the other two suspects began striking her multiple times as she struggled to get away.

If the white lady (victim) had crossed the street to avoid walking past the black ladies (thugs), she would have been accused of being a “racist”. Instead, she held her course, tried to give them the sidewalk, and paid for her politeness by losing her belongings and getting her arse beat. That’s some goddamn white privilege right there.

At 15 I was robbed trying to buy a dime bag on N. Rampart. Took my favorite wallet with $30 and a camera. I learned a lot about a certain culture that day.

When I worked in the Quarter. I would literally run to my car when I got off of work at 3-4 in the morning. I had a pocket full of cash from tips and didn't even want to give someone the opportunity to rob me. Not trying to victim blame, but women shouldn't be walking around The Quarter alone. I hope she is able to get justice.

Were the roles reversed, the racial makeup would have been in the first line of the story, headline too.

No one makes a fuss because this is the norm. You would think that if the black community seriously wanted to be treated with more respect. That they would start holding their own to a higher standard.
