New laws will require Illinois public schools to teach LGBTQ history and civics education to students.

That's gotta be a short history lesson, like 10 minutes

Yeah, they’ll fail simple biology and think that 2+2=5 can be true if you declare that it is.

The lesson would be very short probably lol. I'd imagine it would include the Stonewall Riots and the legislative history behind "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and gay marriage.

Please, someone enlighten me about the contributions of trannies to our history.

This ought to be great.

This may be useful if they focus on things such as Alan Turing and Stonewall.

I am nervous that it won't be that, however. This is more shite that will ultimately do more damage to the silent 80% of the LGB community.

I'm OK with teaching the history of the gay movement. Seems weird to have an actual shout out to the particular "contributions" of specific gays. However, if I had to pick one, I'd go with Alan Turing. The whole lesson is right there in one guy: persecuted for being gay; contributed massively to the war effort; rightfully lionized today as a hero.
