I had about 25-30 pcr tests. Have all been negative to date. It was required weekly to no-weekly at out work.

Polymerase Chain Reaction.

It's the technology behind the covid tests.

Have had 5 or 6 back when everyone was doing it. Was getting killed w allergies & poison ivy and anytime I needed treatment had to get the brain tickler first.

I would have opted for the no-weekly tests, unless of course you had symptoms.

My guess is 15-to-20 15-minute and/or overnight tests for me in the past 18 months.

All results were negative.

And I am still jab-free.

qPCR, Quantitative PCR, Real-Time PCR all the same thing. This method takes a reading after each amplification cycle.

Traditional PCR is an end-point measurement that take the reading at the end of all amplification cycles.

It is also noteworthy that this is the testing method and that assays can be designed to detect any nucleotide sequence, you just need to design flanking primers to your region of interest and in this case an internal primer (probe) for detection.

The big question is, where did they get the reference COVID-19 sequence from? did they isolate and culture the virus in a lab ?? or is it synthetic or generated with a computer?

Not sure of the downvote above, but I haven't been remotely sick in several years, and I work from home. The only reason I would have been tested is if I just couldn't live any longer without having a Q-Tip rammed up my nostril.

Hard pass.

Read the other day that they use similar coronaviruses, and something else I no longer remember.

Also, you sure those pcr tests take a reading after each amplication? If so, why don't they report how many amplification cycles it took to reach a positive result? They have that data but just don't report it?

I don't work in diagnostics, but from what I understand, other assays are reported with the cycle number but not the covid tests. Maybe you just have to ask the doc for the results, i dunno.

yes, every cycle the reading is taken for qPCR. 100% certain

I get tested every other Wednesday for work (to fly offshore). I have lost count of how many negative test I have had.

Thanks for the response. I was curious if anyone else had ever been negative.

It's my understanding that doctors are not allowed to see the CT at all.

damn dude, you either abusing the system or scared to death. So what triggers theses tests? A sniffle, a cough, being in the vicinity of a sniffle or cough?
