To be fair, it wasn't NBC News but rather the local news broadcast on the NBC affiliate station in Columbus, Ohio.

Please tell me there was a redaction. Nobody can be that negligent.

YouTube users say the NBC affiliate removed the story but never issued a retraction.

I think the pump action on that AR15 needs to be adjusted for a better semi-auto feel.

Well then, perhaps I should put on my shocked face.

Jeez.

Video and audio sure sync... But seriously, is this actually real? I mean, it would be scary enough just to see the damage done to the melon from an actual. 223... especially from a lead core round as opposed to steel core. But seriously, how completely ignorant and grossly negligent is this reporting?

Was this the left's way of going after shotguns too? Maybe they get their restrictions on AR15s and then bring up the same video again and say, "oh yeah, we messed up on the details of this video before... But yeah, look how scary this shotgun is! Let's ban these too, because no common citizen should own a weapon of war this destructive!!!"

Did they air this redaction? I'm guessing they did not. It's a facebook comment, not everyone pays attention to that.

Holy shite.

I don't own a gun and haven't shot one in over 3 years, and I could tell w/in one second what was wrong.

I laugh to keep from crying.

I want news outlets to each have a day of the week where they just talked about all their errors

If they had a shred of integrity they would. It's an absolute shame that the so-called fourth estate has failed in its responsibilities to ensure an informed public.

Actually it would be one day of news and 6 days of retractions.

The really sad part is that the majority of people that want to ban guns think this is true. Ignorance should not be the basis for our laws.
