Question: he steps down from the Presidency immediately. He has multiple millions of dollars of campaign donations. What happens to all that money? The DNC gets it?

I don't think he steps down; I think he just declares he's not running for another term.

You’re onto one of the significant reasons why it simply ain’t gonna end up happening.

Problem with that is the "Why".
How can he explain withdrawing without admitting inability to govern?
IMO, He can't. He either stays in or withdraws and sets timetable to turn over the Presidency to Kamala.

quote:Federal campaign law dictates that you can use whatever money there to settle the debt you have and then it has to go back to the donors which they'll find every trick in the book to keep as much money as they can but donors that ask for their money back it has to be given back to them within 30 days

But so much money that is set up in packs or super packs or state parties or senatorial campaigns that money will get wasted the way they were planning
And again as most of my explanations of these issues on here it is a gross over symbolization but actually correct and answers

It will become very clear very quick that she is not going to be elected president
if she becomes the nominee
if she becomes the nominee

picking someone other than the person that won the primary sounds threatening to democracy lol
Democrat voters haven't picked their own nominee since Obama in 2008. The Party will select who they want if Biden steps aside. I think they're facked. Isn't the Ohio deadline next week?

No, we’re talking about monies donated directly to the Biden For President type deal, the one that bears his specific name and the election involved.
Plus, any which way you slice it, it’s a pretty good bit of steps and process to do in barely 5 months.

It is something we need to be reminded of. They don’t play 3D chess well.
BUT they don’t have to play by the rules AND they make up new rules only for us along the way as it suits them

Horse shite. She's damned near my dream candidate. An unlikeable elitist minority who hates America? Sign me up. You talk about hemorrhaging the blue collar worker vote that the Dems are counting on to hold on to the Rust Belt/Midwest?
Not a factor, though. Big Mike ain't running.

that money according to federal campaign laws can still be spent to retire debt incurred by that campaign the Biden campaign
They will whether it's legal or right or moral or not hide a lot of extra spending in that there'll be a lot of unpaid bills that suddenly get turned in that extend people's salary for a year plus and all of those things rent on office spaces is allowed to be completed all that after all that is done the money must be returned to the donors
also as I said any donors that ask in writing ...has to be returned within thirty days
And all other clarify again there are cases and instances where these laws don't apply but generally speaking that's how it works

My bad bro. I just didn’t realize you were a federal election law expert.
So exactly what “debt” are you referring to that is able to be satisfied with these campaign contribution funds? You use the term pretty loosely, and I’m sure expertise in this area would dictate a slightly more specific explanation.

I think the only way one of those 3 states already “locked in” will accept a new nominee is death or impeachment. So we don’t want the 25th. It’s best if he stays the nominee or steps down and the new nominee isn’t on the ballot in that state
Nevada I believe won’t accept a new nominee unless the current one dies or is impeached
SC doesn’t allow withdrawal for political reasons
Wisconsin allows it if the nominee is mentally incompetent
Georgia allows it 70 days before

data those vendors will get paid as if were going thru to Nov and a new candidate changes the nature of the data so it cany be resodl to recoop
leases
car rentals
advertising buys in some cases.. I guarantee you the Biden campaign is bought up a lot of advertising time ,, the Biden campaign could sell that time and get some money back they CANNOT just transfer the time to the new campaign and the price is set by Election FCC law
and in some of those states that the new nominee would decide not to spend money in those States
those radio stations TV stations are still going to get their money from biden
A lot of the expenses in general and they write them when they're writing these contracts they write them in the way that these people get paid even if the candidate drops out and I'm going to guess at the big ones the smart consultants which I know y'all are hate to admit this but some of the Democrats are smart consultants I guarantee you they've worked in not only getting paid but they probably get a bonus if Biden drops out
