I just don't understand this shite.
The world knows China is entirely responsible for the virus, the world knows China is a brutal authoritarian regime that has imprisoned or killed tens of thousands of people over this virus and general government opposition, the world knows China is lying its arse off about its numbers and about the US response, BUT goddammit the world hates Trump so much that they will still side with China to their own detriment just out of spite.
I've seen this argument made a million times on reddit about China, North Korea, and Iran. Can't believe some dipshit in the media is on board with this stupidity.

At least give them credit for the effort.
Another attempt at slick propaganda technique 100 years in the development and fine tuning.
Used in this exercise to "promote" a country with that dubious level of "quality assurance" and respect for its citizenry over the very nation that provides them the platform to spew their babble.
Kudos to the schools of Journalism, to Madison Avenue and the media they've helped craft.
One that since late '16 has gone from what has been a history of sly subliminal suggestion and subtlety to what now can't be interpreted as anything other than blatant, clinical bias.
This "exercise" couldn't have been done better by the late Edward Bernays and his cohort Lippmann - one time staffers at the world's foremost propaganda mill that's been anchored there in London and Sussex for the last 5 generations.
But with the increasing awareness among what has been their "targets" for so long, the current bunch should try another tack.
Their string has run out. They've exposed themselves and now have been reduced to nothing more than a source of droll entertainment.

Let's see, imprisoning doctors who express concern, allowing their people's filthy habits to cause this whole mess, lying about the scale of the problem and hiding deaths....

The man ignored U.S Intelligence months ago when being warned of what was coming. As the media goaded him while getting get more hysterical by the day of his lack of any meaningful action, he then waited almost TWO WEEKS before declaring a public health emergency after the first confirmed infection. (compare that to two days after H1N1 first confirmed case). Not declaring a PHE earlier kept federal action of medical supplies and testing stymied during that precious early time of needed action givig this to grow exponentially. Of course, when they finally did act, we all know the CDC sent out faulty tests. WE have never seen a more devastating example of incompetence and inaction in our lifetimes.
