First 30 minutes had only 3.92 million views.

Is this true? Game 2 of NBA Finals drew 3.92 million viewers? https://programminginsider.com/friday-ratings-game-2-of-the-nba-finals-leads-abc-to-victory/ I don't seen this anywhere else?

That's for the first half hour. Average viewership for the whole game was 4.5 million.

2019 NBA Finals average viewership: 15.14 million
2020 Game 2 average: 4.5 million*

That is a 70% drop in viewership.

Hey @mcuban I’d love to hear how the NBA hitting a forty year ratings low — and dropping 68% from last year’s game two — is good for the league. Thanks, bud.

I couldn't even tell you what channel the games are on. I have no interest whatsoever.

NBA since Jordan left for the final time has been dead to me. I don’t watch it and what they’re protesting for today certainly won’t bring me back.

Mark me down as someone who watched every game of the finals last year and not a second of it this year.

Strange, Lebron going to LA was supposed to be big money but its proven to be pretty lackluster if not downright disappointing.

And white police officers are killing innocent people of color.

Today’s NBA and NFL.

Funnier still, they were competing against two baseball games and....literally nothing else.

Bwahahahah. Take your round ball and shove it up your arse China. Just play the games in Guangzhou, Americans don't care anymore.

That's because it wasn't organic. These NBA moves are transparently about ratings and winning rings and the players are dealing themselves.

Maybe they should take BLACK LIVES MATTER off of the center of the court.

Freaking idiots.

Too late. We (now former) season ticket holders are donezo.

Rockets can suck it and hope they lose every game next season. Same with the rest of the league

I'm convinced player mobility has finally hit a fever pitch. The passion of a regional fanbase is dying. Why even bother allying with large cities when players switch teams like an AAU league? Just take away city names. Players dont like living in a lot of the usual NBA cities anyways. They can play every game in LA and NYC.

You have a significant amount of NBA fans that are fans of players more than teams.

Just look at that c on z guy, I'd say 30% of NBA viewers are like him.

And aren't even these new numbers utilizing a generous new Nielsen bar/airport/crowd algorithm or such?

As bad as those numbers are, they may still be over-inflated fluff?

Same. They have nothing to blame it on either. It was on a Friday night against 2 baseball games that no one gives a shite about either. Maybe that La Tech/BYU matchup took some of their viewers.

Used to love it. But now frick the NBA.

Same. The NBA went to shite when Jordan hung it up. These teams don't play defense anymore.

Hopefully the viewership stays that low. Will be great to watch them all cry about taking a 50+% pay cut in the next bargaining agreement. Funny think ix they claim to hard it hear but refuse to leave . When they get what they want Democrats in control they will bd trying to get out of here.
