When your owner is slurping ice cream and doesn't know his own name... this is what happens.

So this guy has a perfectly good opportunity to uphold the very honor he cherishes by appearing for an award but declines because a few players refuse to stand for the national anthem? What a bunch of emotional bullshite.
What level of indoctrination does it take to make a person pass up being a hero because some people won't stand during the beloved national anthem?
Yup.
You show up, you accept the award, you accept all the positive press your cause is going to get because of the award, and if you are angry enough, when you get him you throw the award in the trash can and move on with your life.
Instead... this guy decides to take a media junket.
It's crazy.
Therein lies the can of worms of making the apolitical political.

Yep.
It's why if you own a business that serves a population with widely varied views your employees don't
Wear MAGA hats
Pro Choice Pins
Pro Life Pins
Kneel for the Anthem
Wear pro-cop stuff
The list goes on.
You want to piss off subsets of the population while not really affecting any of your customers?
Be Rachel Maddow, Tucker Carlson, Rush Limbaugh or Michael Moore.
Their JOB is to serve a niche.
No sports franchise has a political niche of customers.

o kneelers who hate cops should be allowed to kneel but the person who actually served shouldn't be allowed to express why he doesn't want the fake award?
Fake award??

It's kind of like Hollywood and their awards shows.
Those shows used to be a pretty big deal and attracted huge audiences. I'm sure their audiences are still OK.
But, imagine how much better their audiences would be if the didn't basically.........IN ADVANCE.........say, "hey, you 60 million people over there..........frick you........we don't even want you to watch and if you do, we're going to insult you and make fun of you!!!"
As a guy who is sort of a part time marketing nerd, it's just weird.

Hey Saints... your players the ball rollimg on being divisive. Dont project your own idiotic behavior on this man.

I am astounded at how naive and out of touch these teams and players are about this situation. Whether it's stupid to boycott or not, it is clearly having a negative impact. They should have just ignored this dude and went on with the event without comment. Vaccaro's tweet is another example. Just shut up and protest.

It's as if they think they can convince people they are stupid (and convince them out of their stupidity, I suppose), by just yelling louder and louder at them, "YOU'RE STUPID!"

The Saints' response has earned them a spot on the frontpage of ESPN, Breitbart, Fox News....and the MAIN headline on NY Times: "Saints in public feud with disabled veteran over anthem protests"

I'm so glad that folks like you are the minority in this country. it's the only thing that gives me hope.
