This is DJT’s greatest failure and I voted for him.

we can blame Reagan for MORE THAN DOUBLING the debt from $900B to $2.6T in 8 years, right?
The only reason I give Reagan a partial pass is because he used proposed spending to bury the Soviet Union, and he reworked SS. Also in each instance, Obama included, Congress must bear the brunt of the issue.

But your post is more than fair critique.

I wish people would be a little more patient about this, and I wish Trump would articulate his plan for the people instead of shite tweeting all day.

You can't fix everything in 2 years, and it's clear has engaged in longer term policy initiatives like trade, domestic manufacturing and energy growth. That being said, he must tell the voters this. Make them understand how a brisk economy can slowly nibble away at the deficit like it did in the 90's. Reassure us that has committed to reducing the debt, and get out of the business of obsessing over dem attacks. Ignore these fricks and govern.

It's actually more like $16T. The rest is "intragovenment debt", which means debt that is held by other federal agencies. For example, if the Thrift Savings Plan holds US Treasuries (it does) as part of pension investments, the net effect is zero.
