This probably bothers me more than it should but it's been pissing me off

Watched the stupid HOT 97(is that related to the NOLA radio station or another station?) take on it and I thought it was completely revolting. Most of it is a couple of white people sitting around telling him how he needs to think because of his race. They act like they're somehow connected to the street and they clearly aren't. Not to mention conflating all black people with the street hood mentality is insulting on its own.

They seemed to be upset that he was challenging "black conventional thought" as if that is even a thing. I know conservatives say that white libs don't want blacks to "leave the plantation" so to speak. I think that type of verbiage is often a little too extreme. In this case it's fitting. They're trying to say his opinion doesn't matter and it's precisely because of his race. At its most extreme you could even say that the stance is dehumanizing. Obviously not in the same vein that blacks were dehumanized during slavery but individual thought is clearly not welcomed. This says a lot more about the white lib journalists who pulled out the knives on Kanye than most people are willing to stomach. These are sick depraved individuals that don't believe that he has the right to individuality.

Not my most eloquent post but this shite is just sickening IMO

If there's any kind of racism that liberals are capable of practicing regular, it's the paternal racism and white man's burden kind.

There is no one that the Dems hate more than one of their own who leaves the plantation. Whether it be a woman, a gay, a black or a Muslim.

The proof always shows out.

Affirmative action is racist because it has no sunset clause and no provision for ever considering one. If it wasn't racist then the assumption would be that it would no longer be needed at some point because everybody is equal.

I don’t trust Kanye at all, there’s something going on with this that’s going to backfire on all of these people that are praising this idiot, he’s not what you think. He has some kind of agenda.

Scum knows no color/boundaries.

Imagine where we’d be without Trump.

Ben Carson was an icon to black children in the Mid Atlantic region (hell, it was even referenced in the Wire)

until he came out openly as a conservative

He's a business man. He's likely creating some waves because he is releasing a new album soon.

That being said he has been pro Trump since before the presidential election so it's not like it is completely out of the blue. Which is odd that NOW they're attacking him relentlessly.

I don't know that he's a conservative but he might be closer to an independent that's looking for different solutions

Maybe he's a changed man. History tells us most people don't stay the same after dating a Kardashian

Dems know if they lose the plantation blacks, they are done, so expect them to crucify any enlightenment of any minority.....

I’d say you nailed it, and I appreciate your post.
The reaction you described is entirely fear-based—those white (and black) liberals don’t want Kanye to stray from the flock.
It’s nothing new.
They attacked Steve Harvey the same way.

I really do think it is an attempt to silence blacks and take away their individualism. Dehumanizing might be a harsh word but I think it's appropriate.

But it’s not just blacks.

They went after MILO and started riots so he wouldn’t speak.

They went after Dinesh D’Souza and had him jailed.

And now it’s Kanye.

There is absolutely hate coming from the left. But not with as much veracity as for one of their own.

It’s shown time and time again.

i do believe that "Kanye is losing his mind again" can't be ruled out

i know it's the de facto left-progressive argument, but it's a legit possibility

Whether he is genuine or not or whether he's actually losing his shite is all irrelevant to me

The fact that they're acting like he needs to be treated like some dangerous criminal that just escaped from the looney bin is what's disheartening.

It’s possible.
Regardless of the reason, the reactions to his recent behavior have been very interesting.
I couldn’t care less who he supports politically.
It’s Kanye West.

I honestly can't think of any way this would be beneficial for his album release.

His motives for doing what he's doing are kind of irrelevant for the mere fact that the left's default reaction in the face of identity politics is being exposed.
