Old friend of mine is on a vent right now. I won't tell anyone what to do with their lives, but if you're overweight and not taking precautions, yea, your odds are good but you're practically playing russian roulette.

20 months into Covid I still don’t know one person who has been hospitalized with Covid or died.
The people who had it said it was a mild cold.

My weight has gone from 320 pounds (I'm 6'4) to 295 pounds. I highly recommend the vaccine if you have these pre existing conditions that I have. Otherwise, do your research. I'm happy to be alive and trust me when I tell you, the hospital is not the place to be right now
I appreciate your story. And you are right, you fall right in the demo that should take the vaccine, IMO. This is a no brainer.
I say appreciate your story, because you gave personal details and you did not project your current health status on the rest of us with a blanket assumption that we all must get vaccinated.
We are all different and need to weigh our own personal risk against our own personal risk tolerance. My personal risk profile in terms of catching, recovering and risk tolerance is different than everyone in the world. I don't need my employer or anyone telling me what to do. I can make my own decisions based on my own risk profile based on my own research, health history and PCP consultation.
Glad you are doing better...

You should’ve taken your daily Ivermectin
Many people including the medical community are taking it prophylactically. I don't believe anyone takes it daily. The interval is usually biweekly or monthly.

Most educated people over 35 or so don’t want to risk spending two weeks in the hospital or having to miss 10 days of work to score political points against the Libs
Just admit that the thought of getting Covid terrifies you. It's okay.

When did wanting to avoid being sick equate being terrified? I must have missed that transition....

My Brother In Law (56yo) is in the Hospital with it right now. He doesn't have any other health issues and isn't overweight. It's kicking his arse right now.
Edit: He was not vac'd.
Not sure why someone would downvote this.
Because they are shitty people and it does not fit their narrative.

When did not trusting the vaccine become "wanting to score political points against the Libs"?

Sounds smart.

Since the day Biden took office. I too share disdain for the liberal power grab made available by Covid.I do not convolute medical advancements and political theatre. Every single vaccine was brand new at one point. Hep A, Hep B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Small Pox, etc., are innovations of the medical community. These vaccines saved countless lives throughout history.

I contracted the virus working on a washing machine with one of my brothers friends. He didn't know at the time that his daughter was about to tell him that she had just been tested positive for COVID. 2 days later I had a headache and got tested on the 20th of July and was positive. I suffered at home for 8 days until one morning my oxygen dipped to 81 so we called paramedics and I stayed the next 4 nights in OCHSNER. I have a strong faith in my God/Jesus and he sustained me and I came home on the 1st of August and I am still struggling with my stamina and tightness of chest and no longer have headaches, itchy skin, weird taste in my mouth, etc...... I now have the antibodies and will probably still not get the vaccine. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten the vaccine because I was in the bracket that catches COVID. My weight has gone from 320 pounds (I'm 6'4) to 295 pounds. I highly recommend the vaccine if you have these pre existing conditions that I have. Otherwise, do your research. I'm happy to be alive and trust me when I tell you, the hospital is not the place to be right now. Thanks for letting me vent. Peace.
no offense, I am someone that got vaccinated, but you obviously didnt give a frick abotu your health to begin with. Why should we care now?
I am for people getting vaccinated if they feel it is right for them and in no way shape or form believe 99% of the bullshite that is posted on here.
But you made a choice. not like you had some rare blood disorder, you made a conscious choice to get to were you were severly modbidly obese. you had a freakin year to lose some weight and chose not to, thats all on you bud.
your arguement shouldnt sway anyone one way or the other.

OK OP is and was morbidly obese, to nobobys surprise he had complications from a virus that seems to attack those in his catagory.
Everyone should get the vacination if they feel it is right for them. If not, they shouldnt.
Fat people should get the vaccine

Glad you are getting better. You have to get that weight off man. There are more reasons that just Covid to do it.
Losing weight when you're very sick is common. One of my golfing partners got the wake up with a serious heart attack that almost killed him. He was 6-1, 270.
Now he's 190. The pain was enough to make him change his eating habits.
But almost everybody says 'Yeah, I need to lose about 10 pounds.' Well, we all get a cold or flu and food tastes like crap. Don't eat during the illness. You'll lose 10 pounds.

Because it's fear porn and if he truly has no preexisting conditions than he is very unlucky to end up in the hospital. Healthy people aren't affected as much by this virus.
