That should’ve been your first sign that maybe additional research is needed to find out what was actually said instead of falling for a bogus headline.

Trumps tweet about the common flu this morning wasn’t his best moment. I get his point but the death rate is 50 times higher than the common flu.

22 is less than 12k

This headline literally took my breath away. I know NBC/MSNBC is total crap, but how can even they say something this outrageous?

I'm not a lawyer, but this is way beyond the pail. Looks like they could/should be sued for this.
You probably need to read the rest of the thread. I thought just as you did when I first read the OP but someone has pointed out the "15%-20% death rate" figure was misquoted.

Apparently the 15-20% mortality rate only applies to elderly persons and persons with chronic other health issues who contract CV-19.

It's still too high but....

oh for fricks sake. here's the exact quote.

it was said for shock value, not the little asterisk they added at the end.
quote:

“Getting testing up and running in every place we can, in every city, in every public health laboratory around the country is key for us to understand how widespread this epidemic is. This is not to fear monger. It would be irresponsible for us to create panic when it’s undue,” Fair said. “That being said, we know 80 percent of the population is going to survive and a typically 15 to 20 percent rate of mortality for those individuals that are both elderly or have underlying conditions.”

So you didn’t listen to the actual clip?

This is right up there with Democrats saying the President called the virus a hoax.

Context.

No it isn’t. The death rate appears to be slightly higher than the flu. You are grossly uninformed or intentional misleading.

No he didn't

He brought up 80% first

Then he went on to talk about every person knowing someone with an underlying condition.

At this point you should feel safe to say that the guy was just shite at laying out what he wanted to say or he did it on purpose to confuse people.

Did I paraphrase the quote incorrectly in my explanation to the other poster?

No, he’s being intentionally obtuse by splitting up the sentence when clearly it all applies to the elderly/immunity deficient group.

How is the guy going to get to 20% of all the population dead if only 20% of the elderly are dying?

Just as bad as all the idiots on the far left.

Stop spreading false information. You are taking information completely out of context. You are just as bad as the original MSNBC twitter headline.

To be fair, these are the same idiots who thought Mike Bloomberg should've just given each one of us a million dollars and called it a day.
