With the cash injection that is being pushed into EV engineering design I would say that this statement won't age well

My district was supposed to get a grant for this but they ultimately didn't.

Weird requirement that they'd have to destroy the diesel buses that these EV's would replace. They could not be repurposed into student transport. I thought that was kind of weird.

It's a nice deal for a district that has buses that are on their last legs and need replacement....and if they can get a local electric cooperative to donate the electricity for charging them. Most school buses have a sub-100 mile route daily so the electric models would be fine. Even if the buses turned out to be unreliable, the district would essentially be postponing a big cost of new diesel buses worst case.

Probably take each school district its own substation to power a fleet of school buses. That alone would be a huge expense I would think.

The cost is cheap probably when compared to upkeep and replacement. Plus kids are going to be late this year in MS for class......
