Power crews came in from every state. They all went home when the job was finished. We did appreciate everyone of them.

So if I go do contract work in a country, I should be allowed to tarry there as long as I want after the job is over?

That’s stupid.

Oh I’m going to cry I guess we shouldn’t enforce immigration laws anymore

Wouldn't this fall under a special circumstance?

Like fighting in the US military.

Look, if we were dying for space I would understand being so staunch but we have the room and they paid a toll in my opinion.

This came directly from NOLA locals interviewed on NPR this morning. It raises a good point - the city was devastated 20 years ago and couldn’t have bounced back without thousands of laborers.

Yeah! Taking jobs from locals.

I knew a guy from here in Tennessee that traveled down to help.

He said the parking Lot of the Lowes and Home Depot would be filled with Mexicans. The Contractors would come by and verbalize his need for Pipe Fitters, Electricians, Carpenters, get the skilled individuals that he needed, and leave.
Meanwhile the locals would be sitting on their porches, enjoying their morning beverage of choice.

Except that we don’t have space, or resources. We’re $40,000,000,000,000 in debt.

Throw them out...why didn't they try to legalize in 20 years? I can build several houses, but several cars, have 2 kids that are voting age in 20 years but these bozos can't fill out paperwork to become legal? Nah...they gone.

They made a killing and have been afforded more than enough time to become legal citizens.
