The headlines literally write themselves.

quote:

Rangappa, the former FBI agent who now lectures at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, said that if a FISA warrant were to be approved based on weak evidence, “You would need literally every person in the entire chain of events to be on board with something that was completely flimsy, including the lawyers who are there to make sure it’s not flimsy and a judge

quote:

The standard for obtaining a FISA warrant is not that high,” Pearlstein said. “It’s not like the FBI has to show proof beyond a reasonable doubt that this guy is an agent. It only has to show it has a reasonable basis to believe this guy is an agent of a foreign power.”

And the kicker

quote:

None of the dossier details about Page have been substantiated, though they are intriguing because they suggest that Russians were using Page to convey messages to the Trump campaign and trying to cultivate him as an intelligence source. Page also acknowledged in his House Intelligence Committee testimony that he met with a top official from Rosneft, but said he could not remember details of their conversation.

But buzzfeed (author of the article) decided to publish the dossier anyway during the campaign to go along with the vast conspiracy .

He's right

If only there were some sort of recent opportunity for a legislative revisiting of the FISA standards

Wow. They are trying really really hard to lower the bar to bail out the DOJ/FBI

Too bad they didn't consult Newsweek.

Well...if the standard isn't that high, why in the hell did they have to use "false information". It's almost like there was no other evidence of collusion....Oh.....wait....

OK, fine. Let's look at who we had involved in the chain of events:

FBI:

McCabe - Wife took $700k for a state race where opponents spent $50k

Strzok - FBI agent in charge of Trump investigation

Page - An FBI lawyer who would have been involved in compiling "evidence" to submit to FISA

James Baker - Her lawyer supervisor

Comey - Enough said

DoJ:

Loretta Lynch - Hates Trump

Sally Yates - Hates Trump, tried to setup Flynn with a BS "Logan Act" violation

Apparently not, if you can use an opposition research paper paid for by a political party to obtain a warrant to spy on their political enemies.
