Obviously, there's some connection between the mother and the molester. I won't guess at what this connection is, but...... it can't be anything positive. In fact, probably quite the opposite.

Kids had to wake up Grandma because Mom didn’t go home.
Grandma SOMEHOW knew her daughter was at a hotel. Not a grocery store, not at work, not at a clothing store buying stuff for the kids.
A hotel.
Mom and the pedo were in the lobby. They had to have already had a room, because SOMEHOW the pedo was able to separate the child from three people, get her to the room, and start assaulting her.
Mom obviously knew where the room was, because she burst in and shot him. She didn’t go room by room looking for them, and she obviously had a keycard to get in.
Lots of holes in this story, seems like Mom has some ‘splaining” to do.

Seems like mom did not think this through.
My guess is she rented out her daughter. Then regretted it.
