Yep - I agree the Oxford vaccine looks more promising. It apparently causes a number of similar side effects that require acetaminophen to regulate, but I have more confidence (that might be misguided) in their ability to mitigate those side effects with more time and research.

Also, I like the fact that Pfizer vaccine with 4 different variations. It's not as far along yet, but it could be promising.

For those who are interested, I find this page useful as it live updates the progress of different vaccines:

I’ll take it. I won’t hold it against those who choose not to, but I work at a hospital and would rather not get it or bring it home to my family if I can avoid it.

Some of y'all. Probably think you'll catch the autism, grow extra toes and fingers or sprout antlers out of your backside.
Or don't trust a clearly rushed bandaid fix that hasn't even been properly tested yet.

Whatever helps you paint anyone that doesn't think like you as lesser, right?

Well, yeah, actually.

It's actually quite easy.

You can bet your arse I’m taking it as soon as it’s available. I’m not judging any individual who doesn’t take it. I’m just pointing out that others may suffer severe consequences as a result. I wouldn’t want to live with something like that on my conscience.

This and the amount of upvotes you have just shows the amount of pussies this country is now made of which is a direct correction of our current political climate.

Downvote away pussies!

The side effects of the Moderna vaccine seem pretty damaging, especially when you consider that their study participants are in much better health than the public at large:

There's nothing terrifying about what's been published from phase 1. Phase 3 will be the 100 ug dose. I guess you'd be terrified of the shingles vaccine. Maybe you're an antivaxer?

The vaccine won’t be needed then, but if it’ll make me less likely to catch a cold, I may take one eventually.

The Oxford / AZ and Pfizer vaccines have a higher chance of success. In a large enough sample size, the side effects will likely amplify and could likely cause this one to not be approved.

I still maintain rona will be burning itself out in the US by the time any of these vaccines are ready for prime time. Finding effective antivirals should be the higher priority.

So I should look forward to taking a vaccine that CAUSES most of the same symptoms as the actual disease in 40%-100% of the test subjects?

I think I'll take my chances with a disease that I have a 99.96% chance of surviving anyway.
