It still must be voted on by senate.
quote:

The Missouri House just passed (98-54) a proposed constitutional amendment to phase out the state's individual income tax over time (targeting full elimination around 2032), funded by expanding the sales tax to cover more services, digital goods, and transactions. It still needs Senate approval and voter OK on the ballot (likely November 2026). Supporters see it as a step toward a simpler, pro-growth system that could inspire other states—critics warn it might hit lower/middle-income folks harder via higher consumption taxes. We'll see how it plays out!

SD already has no income tax and there's a proposal gaining steam to increase sales tax with the goal to eliminate property taxes.

Either everybody pays taxes, or nobody does.

It’s why I am against there being a minimum income for federal income tax.

Wanna spend money? Put it in the plate.

Has to be South Dakota because there’s no way that’s San Diego.

Good, now the drug dealers making millions of dollars but still have no income can no longer use that loophole in the tax code.

This is a good idea if you actually want ever to pay their fair share . We need an eliminated the national income tax , replace with a sales tax and tax on any money moved out of the country . This could even help with illegal immigration.

I hope when the national deficit is corrected, there will be no more taxes. Period.
