Also the black belt regions with the golden triangle (starkville, Columbus, West Point) tend to go blue due to high black populations and colleges. Then of course Jackson.

I am from Columbus and Lowndes is 51-49% Espy now with 25% in. Lowndes County in finicky. Trump won by a solid 20% or so but I have seen our District once go blue in 2006.

21.4% of precincts reporting
Win/lead Votes Pct.
Cindy Hyde-Smith* (R) 87,102 55.8%
Mike Espy (D) 68,860 44.2%
Total Votes 155,962

Rankin County (Hyde-Smith's biggest county) has 0% reporting. Looking like a runaway.

The Sec. of State ordered to stop issuing them Saturday at noon. They had to be mailed in and received by Monday 5 p.m. to the representing county.

Seems kind of hard to get it in the mail on Saturday and be there by Monday at 5:00. Not impossible, but hard considering we are counting on government workers.

Don’t know much about Mississippi, but it’s interesting to me that Pike, Forrest, and Jefferson Davis counties are all going Democrat right now in the southern part of Mississippi

I lived in Columbus as kid many many years ago. I went to St Mary's 1st through 4th grade. Is it even still open?

In south MS. None however are very important ones.

MS has 3 main voter groups

Blacks with a few white liberals
Tea party types
GOPe types

The first reside mostly in Jackson, the delta, and golden triangle region.

The 2nd reside mostly in south ms (the pine belt and coast)

The 3rd are delta farmers and suburban voters in Madison and southhaven. The central and NE ms voters are just base GOP voters that go for whoever the GOP nominates

I went to St. Mary's as well. They changed the name to Annuciation Catholic when I was in 2nd Grade back in 1995. It is still open - actually expanded it to 8th grade now. They actually just tore down the Jolly Memorial Library today and are building a new, larger one.
