Do his actions warrant disciplinary measures, based on your knowledge and experiences?

Absolutely. He completely bypassed his chain of command and testified to conjecture, his opinion, and second-hand hearsay.

Not to mention the fact that he very likely leaked information he wasn’t supposed to.

Yes. Leaking and gossiping and scheming should be left to the bureaucrats. It is beneath the dignity of the uniform.

I know people who know him. He is very blatant about his political views, and makes sure everyone in the room knows what they are. To say he's a "toxic leader" is a bit of an understatement.
This is one of the worst possible things you can do as an officer.
His testimony just reinforced the fact he's a shitbag partisan hack who uses his uniform to further his own political career.

Are you seriously asking if jumping the chain of command to divulge secret information for political purposes warrants military punishment?
Posted on 2/12/20 at 2:18 pm to Godfather1
Yeah, I forgot to mention he leaked information like a sieve.

Yes, I am.
I know nothing of the Military Code of Justice or other disciplinary processes.

Everything said above and he should have to take a PT test.

He also accused his Commander-in-Chief of violating foreign policy.
The Commander-in-Chief SETS foreign policy. Flounder's (Vindman's) job was to implement the orders as given by the Commander-in-Chief and not to supplant his vision of what foreign policy should be in place of the Commander-in-Chief.
He should be court-martialed and jailed.

Absolutely without doubt

This was literally the first response from most of my Army buddies.

No doubt! He leaked a classified call between his Commander-in-Chief and a foreign leader.
The rules of sharing classified info is (1) does the person have the proper clearance and (2) does the person have a need to know. If the answer is NO to any part you cannot share.
Eric Ciaramella did not have a need to know so Vindman illegally leaked the call. That is a punishable offense.

He also claimed that President Trump was subverting US Foreign Policy and that was why he needed to be stopped.
Somehow forgetting that it is the President that sets US Foreign Policy.
Quite a slip up there. Sure points to him thinking a background organization should really be the ones calling the shots. I think I would call them the Dark State? No Deep State sounds like it.

I’ve been out for 21 years, and the first time I saw the guy, my immediate reaction was: “Damn, they’ve certainly relaxed standards since I was in”.

So it seems insubordination, maybe a couple of other things, can be justifiably charged against him?
What possible defenses could he claim?

This is a good point. This is akin to the athletic training staff or offensive analysts going to the press and saying, "The head coach is just calling his own plays. He doesn't listen to us at all."
Posted on 2/12/20 at 2:32 pm to LuckyTiger
It was wrong. His concerns should have been run up the chain of command.
