A “conspiracy theorist” may suggest that if his data has merit, then it may force the “government” to respond. Getting rid of your cash (as a means of convenience / security) would be quite the response. I believe that cash is going to eventually be removed from the equation, but an expedited timeframe for removal (overnight even?) is certainly feasible , as pilot programs for using Central Bank digital currency are being implemented in 117 countries.
