Funny they are both militant black women beheading light skinned whites

She was great in Martha and the Vandellas

Yeah, this whole thing struck me as more metrosexual/millennial than anything else. Like, just trying a little too hard to be cute. I would prefer they go with the standard "realism" style portrait that is traditional and then maybe do this crazy shite for the presidential museum or some other more free form venue.
The choice of Wiley was interesting. Kerry James Marshall would have been a more natural choice, and he's even from Chicago. But in terms of realism, Wiley is certainly more realistic than Marshall, or Kara Walker, who is probably the most prominent black artist today. Wiley loves the simple portrait with explosive backgrounds, which I think is his attempt to isolate faces and expressions. It's almost a new application of Baroque technique, with respect to colors at least.

Most of his canvasses are big, and these smaller jpegs don't really do them justice. I didn't notice anything peculiar about the proportions when I saw a lot of these in person. There is something distinctive about the way he draws faces though.

Lots of artists make crazy shite, this is nothing new.
I don't think this would be anything more than a head shake and lol but for the persistent PC double standard.

Aren’t you the one still melting over crimes that happened decades or centuries ago? All the while ignoring how more blacks were killed in Chicago recently than all lynchings combined.
And... head shot

It is in The Bible. And the Hebrew Septuagint.
But it isn't in the edited and redacted King James version.

I’ve got a collection of almost 50 versions of the Bible. The book of Judith is not in a single one of them

And the Septuagint is not in Hebrew . It’s in Greek

Then you have 50 version of the edited protestant version of the bible and no copies of The Bible.
Do you have a Septuagint?

Take it up with the artist.
If I paint a portrait of a black man hanging from a tree in Mississippi it will be okay because it has a backstory and is history?
Gotcha
No racist

Yes, it was translated from Hebrew to Greek.

True, all Protestant. My roots are betrayed.
As for a Septuagint, no, I wish. I saw one in a museum once, along with a Great Bible and a Wicked Bible
