That too...but so what? Either way they're here or caught in the taxpayer cost of "immigration lawyers".
Lose, lose situation. best to keep them all out in the first place, don't you agree? If not, why not?

You are the worst. Go away away and your ilk. You are the devil Trump will send you to your home. Begone!

Im sure they're smart enough to understand when their card expires. Most illegals aren't jumping the border, illegally.
I see what you're getting at, but it's not a constant. The ones who are smart enough to know when their card expires will cram any need to go back to Mexico before the expiration date. After that, human nature takes over and chances are taken. Actually...a case could be made for keeping this fear, in mostly law abiding aliens, at the forefront. The wall would be such a motivation imo.

Deported. The second time, you can do some time in a US Prison.
That is basically the existing law. It's not being enforced. This is why the wall is needed. You cannot rely on written law to deter criminals any more than strict gun laws eliminate gun crime. The same concept applies.
The wall takes the option away for the majority of those criminals.

That ol skoo...we new skoo..
The past is not prologue, when it comes to physical realities like a barrier or freshly enforced law..

Really??? What are you basing that on?? Wouldn't you do that?? It only makes sense....unless you think those people are dumber than you??
Honest question...if you were in that situation, isn't that what you would do?
Be honest.

How will that work in patrolled areas? Actually..if i remember correctly, anti tunneling was part of the design. I understand your confusion. You're applying old methods to a new metric where they won't work.
IIRC anti-tunneling technologies all have limits or weaknesses that can be easily exploited. One example is that some of the tech can only detect up to 40 feet deep. Some of the deepest tunnels that have been uncovered have been close to 100 feet deep.
I know the walls have worked in Israel, Spain, and elsewhere, but the length of those borders are much shorter which requires fewer people to patrol.

You probably don't have to. The Coyotajes make a living off of getting people across the border.

These Mexican amateur infiltrators don't seem to understand that when an obstacle is observed and covered by fire, it is very tough to infiltrate.

US special forces couldn't climb most of the prototypes built. It was tried as a test.
But I'm sure the average Jose will be able to

So these same dudes can escape from any prison since walls don't work?

It's not so much that wall as it is the guard on the other side with the M-4

Maybe you should be more worried about the contraband coming across than the people coming across for more noble reasons. Crazy thought right?
Honestly, we'd have a better shot at stopping immigrants than stopping drug-trafficking or cartels.

Goood! Make them dig. Have the end of the t5unnel lead to the back of an ICE truck.

While that is probably currently true, there are still a lot that cross at the border. Also if you crack down on the VISA problem, the border crossings will quickly become the #1 method used again. It all has to be fixed.
I agree the whole thing has to be fixed.
I know this will sound counter-intuitive, but according the research, increased border security keeps more illegal immigrants inside the US. Migration between mexico and US used to be a circular flow; they'd come in, work for a bit, and go back. But increasing border security made crossing the border more dangerous. By making the journey more dangerous and costly, illegal immigrants were less likely to go back to Mexico, or would stay in the US for a longer period of time to make the journey worth it.
If there's anything to dispute this, I'm totally down to do some reading. Trust me, I'm open to hearing other arguments.

Well, it's like you said earlier, most immigrants don't use the tunnels, currently. That's done by cartels. But if immigrants have to resort to going underground, cartels may be more than happy to smuggle them across. They're already involved in the human smuggling business, anyway.
Unfortunately, cartels are REALLY good at adapting to whatever gets thrown at them. So if they have to start digging a bunch of 100ft tunnels, they'll do it. And it will probably be no problem for them.
The other problem, is BP "corruption." Cartels have a lot of money and a huge enterprise that keeps them going. Cartels often pay off BP agents to make sure whatever they're smuggling gets across. I know it sucks to think that some of our own BP agents are corrupt (they aren't really). But "plata o plomo" seems to make it much easier for people to "take the money."
